Take Part in a Memorial Day Tradition

"This Ain't No Poker Run"

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. The KC Thunder Ride not only remembers those heroes, but we HONOR all Veterans.

In previous years we have laid wreathes at:

  • All Veterans Memorial in Topeka, KS
  • WWI Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, MO
  • Vietnam Memorial in Kansas City, MO
  • War Mother Memorial at Haskell University in Lawrence, KS
  • National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS
  • Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO

Fort Scott National Cemetery

This year we plan to continue the tradition by going to the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas where we will lay a wreath and have a short but poignant program. Snacks and drinks will be served and are included in your Ride Fee.

NO BIKE—NO PROBLEM

If you don’t ride a bike or a trike, you can still participate by riding the bus. Register as a bike rider, a bus rider or a bike passenger online.

Can’t be there that day? That’s OK ! You can still help out—Just click on the DONATE button.

Proceeds from the Event

"Monies raised by this year's event will be split between the Wounded Warrior Project, St Michael's Veterans Center, The Honor Flight Program and the Volunteer Services Department at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri."
